Low porosity hair refers to the small amount of gaps within the cuticle. The fewer gaps there are, the lower the porosity. 

Because it isn’t very porous, low porosity hair is typically considered healthy, so long as you are able to properly hydrate it. Getting hydration through the cuticle in low-porosity hair can be challenging. Adding heavy ingredients makes it even more challenging. So the main focus for those with low porosity hair is getting moisture IN, once it’s in, it isn’t easily lost. 

For temperate climates, or areas with average dew points of 35-55F

Organic shiitake mushroom extract naturally strengthens and provides elasticity. These mushrooms are a good source of vitamin D, antioxidants, selenium and copper, all of which are essential for healthy hair.

Organic tremella mushroom extract has the ability to hold moisture, it forms a light film over hair strands, locking in moisture thus helping to maintain the integrity of the hair. It is also a natural alternative to hyaluronic acid and silicones, leaving hair silky and shiny. 

Organic marshmallow root contains a mucilage that helps nourish, detangle and condition your hair. It promotes shine, bounce, and enhances curl pattern. It is great for dull, frizzy, and dry hair.

Organic bamboo extract is the richest known source of silica; it contains over 70% silica. Silica strengthens the hair and prevents thinning by delivering essential nutrients to your hair follicles. Organic, unrefined sunflower seed oil is a high-penetrating oil, notorious for holding moisture in strands, stimulating hair growth and improving scalp health. It is an emollient that also has humectant properties, allowing it to attract water to the hair. 

Propanediol is a natural, green, propylene glycol alternative derived from corn sugar. It helps to improve moisturization in the scalp and hair, which further helps to reduce frizz and soften the hair.

Coco Caprylate is a plant-derived alternative to silicones. It helps to hold moisture in the hair without weighing it down. It will soften your hair while providing elasticity and suppleness to it.
