High porosity hair refers to the high amount of gaps within the cuticle. The more gaps there are, the higher the porosity. 

Because of these gaps, high porosity hair is more susceptible to weather changes. 

In dry weather, high porosity hair will lose moisture through the gaps. So in dry climates, high porosity hair needs to be sealed to prevent drying out. 

This curl cream was intentionally formulated for high porosity hair in humid climates to provide hold, definition as well as reduce and prevent frizz.

The humid line is also a great option for those who live in areas with salty air, as it will provide added protection from sea spray and salty air that can dry your hair out.

Organic, unrefined kokum butter softens and seals the hair strands, while also promoting growth. It has been shown to rejuvenate damaged hair and prevent hair loss. It is excellent for high-porosity-hair as it will seal the cuticle and prevent frizz. It softens the hair, and helps promote elasticity.

Organic, unrefined coco butter is a great choice for high porosity hair strands as it is an occlusive that will hold water in, as well as preventing too much from entering the strands. Packed with fatty acids (stearic, oleic and palmitic acids), the rich, creamy texture of cocoa butter infuses your hair strands with essential moisture. It penetrates deep into the hair shaft and reduces hair porosity. Cocoa butter not only seals moisture into your hair strands, but also forms a protective barrier over your hair. This keeps your hair safe from UV exposure, chlorine water, dust, pollution, heat damage and chemical hair products.

Castor oil is healing and fortifying making it one of the best oils for high porosity hair. This oil is not only great for sealing strands, it has some benefits for your scalp. Castor is one of the best oils for high porosity hair (especially in dry or humid weather) because it acts as a sealant that creates a thick coating on the hair strands to keep moisture in and frizz out.

Organic, unrefined sunflower seed oil is a high-penetrating oil, notorious for adding moisture to strands, stimulating hair growth and improving scalp health. It is an emollient that also has humectant properties, allowing it to attract water to the hair.
