Lightweight Rinse-Out Conditioner for Low Porosity Curls + Coils

This lightweight rinse-out conditioner is specially formulated to nourish low porosity hair with organic tremella mushroom, sunflower seed oil, cupuacu butter, and babassu oil. The combination of deeply moisturizing ingredients helps to soften, detangle, and add shine to unruly curls and coils.

Low porosity hair refers to the small amount of gaps within the cuticle. The fewer gaps there are, the lower the porosity.

Because it isn’t very porous, low porosity hair is typically considered healthy, so long as you are able to properly hydrate it. Getting hydration through the cuticle in low-porosity hair can be challenging. Adding heavy ingredients makes it even more challenging. So the main focus for those with low porosity hair is getting moisture IN, once it’s in, it isn’t easily lost.

That said, you don't want to avoid oils and butters altogether, you just want to use the right ones.

This rinse-out conditioner was intentionally formulated for low-porosity hair to soften and seal the hair strands, without causing buildup.

Organic shiitake mushroom extract naturally strengthens and provides elasticity. These mushrooms are a good source of vitamin D, antioxidants, selenium and copper, all of which are essential for healthy hair.

Organic tremella mushroom extract has the ability to hold moisture, it forms a light film over hair strands, locking in moisture thus helping to maintain the integrity of the hair. It is also a natural alternative to hyaluronic acid and silicones, leaving hair silky and shiny.

Betaine is extracted from sugar beets. It protects hair proteins by helping the keratin cells retain water, improving the volume and texture of the hair shaft. Moreover, the outer layer of the hair shaft becomes more durable and long-lasting. It also protects the hair from UV damage.

Panthenol is a readily available source of provitamin B-5. Provitamin B-5 binds the hair follicles and coats to seal in moisture. This is great for preventing dry hair and scalp due to heat styling. It builds a very thin layer of moisture along the surface of the hair to add shine, softness and pliability without added oils or greasiness. It is touted as a "volumizer" because it has been shown to lift the hair and add fullness.

 
Organic, unrefined babassu oil can deeply penetrate into the hair shaft consequently locking in moisture. It is rich in antioxidants and fatty acids that make it great for your skin and hair. It's also anti-inflammatory and antibacterial. Babassu oil is rich in antioxidants, which are compounds that can help reduce cellular damage caused by harmful free radicals. Organic, unrefined sunflower seed oil is a high-penetrating oil, notorious for holding moisture in strands, stimulating hair growth and improving scalp health. It is an emollient that also has humectant properties, allowing it to attract water to the hair.

Propanediol is a natural, green, propylene glycol alternative derived from corn sugar. It helps to improve moisturization in the scalp and hair, which further helps to reduce frizz and soften the hair.

Caprylic/capric triglyceride has a unique mix of fatty acids that helps to repair the hair's surface and retain moisture in curly hair. Caprylic/capric triglyceride creates a barrier on the hair's surface, decreasing the amount of moisture lost. It not only prevents dryness of the hair and skin, but it also acts as a hair conditioning agent. It is naturally derived from coconuts and is an antioxidant as well as a natural alternative to silicones.
